Gilbert Public Schools Superintendent Search

Gilbert Public Schools is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Superintendent, following the retirement of current Superintendent, Dr. Shane McCord at the end of this school year.

GPS is seeking a highly qualified and certified Superintendent. The Governing Board wishes to have the successful candidate assume the responsibilities of the position no later than July 1, 2026.

Superintendent search firm McPherson & Jacobson, LLC, Executive Recruitment and Development has been engaged as the consultant in a search for outstanding candidates. They will assist the Governing Board in identifying and screening qualified candidates.

The candidate must have the background, skills, and abilities essential for excellence in educational leadership. The board recognizes that selecting a superintendent is one of the most important decisions it will make.

• Closing date for applications: December 19, 2025 (11:59 p.m. central time)
• Governing Board selects finalists to interview: January 13, 2026
• Interviews with the Governing Board: Week of January 26, 2026
• Selection of new Superintendent: TBA
